ZhangJiaJie in China, Hunan
Introduction :
ZhangJiaJie is located in the northwestern part of Hunan province in China. The most famous of spots to visit within is the “Wu Ling Yuan” which was classed as a UNESCO Heritage site in 1992 as well as being rated 5A by China’s National tourism administration. It is famous for its breathtaking landscapes and tall mountain pillars and was taken as a scenic inspiration in the popular movie “Avatar”. In 2004, Zhangjiajie Geopark was listed as a UNESCO Global Geopark.

History : ZhangJiaJie got its name from a military advisor “Zhang Liang” who helped the founder of the Han dynasty Liu Bang defeat the Qin dynasty and unified China once again, after which he choose to leave the political scene to find a quiet and beautiful place and settle down peacefully leaving his descendants behind in ZhangJiaJie.
